Calendar
Calendar shows your events and lets you create them, move them, respond to invitations and find a time that works for a group. With Microsoft 365 connected, it shows your Outlook calendar. Without it, a company can run its own Whorl Calendar. See Microsoft 365.
Calendar is in the sidebar.
Look at your calendar
Switch between Day, Week and Month. Today returns to the current day, and Previous and Next move through time. The side panel shows what is Up next, or In progress.
To narrow what you see, use the Response filter (All, Accepted, Tentative, Needs response, Declined) and the Calendar filter (All calendars or one calendar). Clear filters shows everything again.
Keyboard shortcuts work when you are not typing: D, W and M for day, week and month, T for today and C for a new event.
Create an event
Choose New event, or press C. Fill in:
- Title,
- Start time and End time, or All day,
- Add people or email, which can also be someone outside your company,
- Add location, and Rooms when your calendar offers them,
- Online meeting, and
- Description.
Choose Create. If an end comes before a start, or a person's email is not valid, Whorl says so before it saves.
Online meeting
Online meeting has up to three choices:
- Whorl meeting is a link to a Whorl call. Depending on your company's setting, anyone invited from your company joins from the link, or invited guests wait in the lobby.
- Microsoft Teams adds a Teams link to the Outlook event.
- No meeting.
See Huddles and meetings for what happens when people join.
Check availability
When you add people, Calendar shows whether they are free. A row can read All free (Everyone can make it), See times or You're busy. More times shows other options, and Pick a time that works for the group lists suggestions. For people outside your organization, Whorl says Availability not visible outside your organization.
Move or change an event
Drag an event to a new time to move it. Whorl tells you if it could not: Couldn't move event means Outlook refused, and the event goes back to its original time. Move not confirmed means Whorl could not tell, so check Outlook before moving it again. See Microsoft 365.
Open an event for Edit event, Cancel event or Join meeting. If you leave an event half-edited, Whorl asks Discard your changes?
Respond to an invitation
Open the event and choose Accept, Tentatively accept or Decline. Add a comment if you like, then Send response. When your calendar is the Whorl Calendar, invitations arrive in Activity.
